Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:10-12
God tells us that life includes a spiritual battle. The battle is not against other people the battle is against powers, authorities, spiritual forces of evil. I believe that includes Satan, Demons, and our own selfish desires that we fight against.
One of the greatest tools we have is prayer. Prayer to ask for God’s help in the battle but also prayer to help get our hearts in agreement with what God is doing. We make it a daily practice to pray for our family, pray for ourselves, pray for our community and to pray for specific situations as they arise. Perhaps the most common way we pray is that people would grow closer to God and look to him for the hope and help we all need.
